NCC today commenced a new strategy of Do Not Disturb (DND) code, which ensures that all Telcos stop sending unsolicited messages to us (subscribers). No one here can deny the facts that this companies still send us unsolicited messages while some will deduct you for such messages.
Henceforth, NCC stipulated a fine of N5 million for any breach of the directive, which the subscriber (customers) can ensure that any defaulting Telco is fined. How?
According to Professor Danbatta:
"If a consumer lodges a complaint to NCC that an MNO sends unsolicited text messages and the complaint from the consumer gets to us, we will ensure that the credit deducted from the consumers for these unsolicited text messages is returned to the consumer and we’ll also invoke provisions of the fine on the MNO which is N5 million."
Steps for a consumer’s complaint get to NCC?
