Huawei starts rolling out Android Marshmallow update for Honor 7

Today Huawei has has begun rolling out latest update for Android 6.0 Marshmallow for Huawei Honor 7 smartphone. The smartphone was released back in October and went on sale on Flipkart for Rs 22,999 in the same month.

Huawei released on its official Facebook page and also has a strange note at the bottom asking users to register with their details for their respective OTA updates.

Upon clicking on link provides a form where users will need to fill in their smartphone’s current software version, IMEI number, email address and even a contact number. However, the contact number is an optional detail.

According to the same, Honor 7 smartphone owners can expect an OTA update notification on their devices within the next 36 hours after submitting the form.

The Huawei Honor 7 comes loaded with 3 GB of RAM, 5.2-inch Full HD display, Kirin 935 SoC octa-core processor. The smartphone runs on Google Android 5.0 Lollipop and as is the case with Honor phones we have seen in the past, it comes with the Emotion UI 3.1 skin atop the Android OS. The phone sports a unibody metal design.
