Have You Received Invitations To Install ‘WhatsApp Gold’ Or ‘WhatsApp Plus’? Pls Don’t Install It!

If you have received any invitations to install ‘What’sApp Gold’, please don’t install it, as clicking on the link will lead you to a infected website with malicious codes, as numerous WhatsApp users have been receiving these dubious messages.
                                 WhatsApp Gold

This is the message that has been making its rounds:

“Hey Finally Secret Whatsapp golden version has been leaked, This version is used only by big celebrities. Now we can use it too ,WhatsApp Gold contains many advanced features like WhatsApp Video calling , Delete the messages you sent by mistake , Send more than 100 pics at once ,Free calling ,Change WhatsApp themes and tons of great features. This WhatsApp gold can be activated only Via Invites and I am inviting you. Once you activate this WhatsApp gold , your green icon will change to gold and you can enjoy all features 100% safely. Activate WhatsApp Gold with one click at https://www.goldenversion.com/”

Currently whatsApp has no ‘golden’ plans and the link to the suspected ‘WhatsApp Gold’ leads you to ‘www.goldenversion.com – hardly an official website for WhatsApp.

Also clicking the link will silently download the malicious app to your phone and introduce you to malware where cyber hackers can steal your data. There is also a similar app that carries itself malicious intent, known as WhatsApp Plus.

According to WhatsApp’s official FAQ, they have also stated that the app is not theirs.

“WhatsApp Plus is an application that was not developed by WhatsApp, nor is it authorised by WhatsApp.

“The developers of WhatsApp Plus have no relationship to WhatsApp, and we do not support WhatsApp Plus,” the website states.

WhatsApp has advised all users to uninstall these fake applications, and withholds them from installing the real application only after 24 hours.

The best way to avoid the WhatsApp Gold scam is to ignore and delete messages that mention it.

And don’t be fooled, WhatsApp will never contact you outside the WhatsApp app itself, so if you see links and messages like these again, do not click it and simply delete it.
