As good as any Android operating system is, it is still vulnerable to many attacks, to cut long story short, over 900 million smartphones and Tablets has been affected by a new android malware known as Quadrooter which was detected, by researchers at Check Point Software and is said to affect mostly Android mobiles powered by the powerful Qualcomm chipsets. The new android malware Quadrooter is a set of four vulnerabilities that provide a different path for an attacker to gain root access to your smartphone through a malicious application that doesn’t need any special permissions to function. Most of the devices affected include:
- BlackBerry Priv,
- Google Nexus 5X, 6 and 6P,
- HTC One M9 and HTC 10,
- LG G4, G5, and V10,
- Blackphone 1 and 2,
- Motorola Moto X
- OnePlus 1, 2 and 3,
- Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge,
- Sony Xperia Z Ultra, etc

- To be safe, always examine any app installation request on your smartphone or Tablet, also avoid side-loading Android apps, and read permission requests when installing any new app.
