Tokyo 2020 Olympics: Japan plans to use recycled smartphones to make Olympic medals

We have a good development coming from Japan, as they are planning to use recycled tech products to make medals for the upcoming 2020 Olympics which will be held in Tokyo .

This according to reports that appeared originally on Nikkei, which suggests that Tokyo 2020 Olympic organizing committee wants Gold, Silver and Bronze Medals to be made specially from materials produced from recycled tech gadgets including smartphones.

Hence Smartphones normally do contain a small amount of precious metals, which makes the idea really cool and will be able to make the Olympics medals out of recycled tech.
From our finding, the London Olympics medals were produced with 9.6kg of gold, 1,210kg of silver and 700kg of copper, also in 2014 Japan was able to recover 143kg of gold and 1,566kg of silver all from recycled materials.
Come Tokyo 2020 Olympics, we love to see if the plan will go through and also encourafe more countries to look into recycling their discarded tech products.
