We reported about recent WhatsApp to stop working with Android 2.1 and 2.2, iOS 6 and Windows Phone 7 devices. WhatsApp previously announced this move earlier in 2016 in a blog post and followed suit yersterday.
But today Telegram deceided to follow suit and announce that its leaving behind users running Android 2.2, Android 2.3 and 3.0, and Android 4.0 Ice Cream devices.
From this, Sandwich OS is the minimum operating system version allowed to run Telegram's latest version.
We also believe that motives behind this move by telegram by ending support of such old platforms are to enable the software to get more features which require a new operating system.
If you are a Telegram user still running the Android older version, you can switch to Telegram web from your mobile browser.
