This question is very important because there are different categories of visas for different category of people. Knowing the answer to the question above and the category you qualify for makes the whole process easier.
- Prepare your visa application
Is very important you’ll get ready all your documents and apply for the type of visa that relates with your intentions for going to Germany. Prepare the necessary documents plus visa fees which will be required before applying.
- Make an appointment
It is very important that you book an appointment before you can go to submit your documents for your German visa at the embassy. All visa applications are accepted only if you have made prior appointment.
- Go to the Application Center
Once you arrive at the Application Center, your appointment letter will be verified and you will be issued a token. One common mistake is coming late for your interview, endeavor to be there on time as the embassy may not be able to process your documents if you are late for more than 10 minutes.
- Visa application submission
The submission process generally takes 10 minutes to complete. Your documents and visa application form will be checked and verified. Please make sure that:
- All your documents are complete, arranged in the order as stated on the checklist
- Your passport need to be submitted
After submission you may be asked to collect another token if your visa application form is still incomplete or you made a mistake with the documents or haven’t provided all the necessary documents.
- Entering of application information
After the verification of all your documents, they print out a copy of your application for you, which takes about 10 to 15 minutes. After you get the printed form please make sure to verify all the details are correct and sign the form.
Please note that forms for minors (up to 18 years) have to be signed by both parents.
- Biometric data collection
Once the application has been completed, biometrics will be collected using a quick process that captures a 10-digit fingerprint scan with a digital finger scanner. This will usually take 7-8 minutes per applicant.
Also make sure to keep your payment receipt as this is required to collect your passport when due, it should be noted that any handwritten forms will not be accepted. Every document should be typed and printed before submission.
