Taxify, the Ride-hailing company is renaming itself as Bolt. The company announced
Users of the photo-sharing app and the messaging service, Instagram and WhatsApp don’t know that the platforms are owned by Facebook, as Facebook is now planning to rebrand the two by attaching its name; branding them ‘Instagram for Facebook’, WhatsApp for Facebook.
Though both WhatsApp and Instagram apps were born outside of Facebook, and have very different corporate cultures and identities with consumers. Founders of the photo-sharing app and the messaging service left Facebook in 2018.
However, a Facebook spokesperson confirmed the change coming to WhatsApp and Instagram, saying: “We want to be clearer about the products and services that are part of Facebook.”
Facebook has already notified Instagram and WhatsApp employees that it plans to rebrand both apps. Ladies and gentlemen, get ready for a name change on both apps.
